Marsha Norman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play takes place in a small country house where Jessie is preparing for one final night with her mother, Thelma. Together, they explore each other’s sadness, despair, regret and courage—while bringing dignity to how they see life and finding a deeper understanding of how the choices we make are ours to own.

THE PRODIGAL FATHER is the same story...from another’s eyes. This realistic story of an unruly son who challenges his father’s faith moves the audience to gauge if their own hearts, when broken, can sustain love for the ones lost in the world. This drama takes us on a journey of redemption and soul-searching truths of what it takes to love past, each other’s past. Set in modern times, Prodigal Father entertains audiences through dynamic lighting, sound, and stage effects. The real just got more real.

Celebrating 25 Years of Theatre Roulette, the longest-running short play festival in Central Ohio, Roulette 25 runs Thursdays through Saturdays, May 16 – June 1. Each evening is a different night of short plays, with all 16 plays performed in an all-day extravaganza on Saturday 6/1.
Is this the "best" of Theatre Roulette? Of course not! Since Art is inherently subjective. But this year, a year of celebration, we are re-staging shows that moved artists, audiences, and us.

David Razowsky, The Masterclass
A Subversive’s Guide to Improvisation
“David Razowsky is funny, smart, inquisitive, and artistically fearless.”
–Steve Carell |
SOLD OUT! David's class is now filled. Sometimes things change so if you want to be put on a waiting list email bshimp@me.com and we will put you on the list and let you know if a spot opens up.
David Razowsky is coming to MadLab to teach a MasterClass based on his best selling book, "A Subversive's Guide to Improvisation." In his workshops, students have expressed how much freer they feel in their scene work - and asked, “Why isn’t this how improv is always taught?" Razowsky throws conventional improv wisdom on its head by giving you a unique take on how to create masterful improv scenes. David Razowsky studied, performed, taught, and directed at Second City with Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, and Keegan-Michael Key, among others. He served as Artistic Director of Second City Hollywood before turning his attention to teaching his methodology worldwide. |
